Do you believe in miracles??? I hope you do because through six games we are witnessing one!!!

 The Atlanta Hawks are surprising the entire league by going 6-0 so far in this young season. They are playing defense like we haven’t witnessed in over 10 years.  I consider myself a lifetime Hawks fan, even though the franchise has gone through some MAJOR  ISSUES..  The one that hurt the most was the trade of Dominique Wilkins for Danny Manning when the Hawks looked poised to win the franchise’s first championship.. Not to mention the all of the terrible draft picks that we made…. Even though I know deep down in my heart that the Hawks shouldn’t have been in the playoffs last season.. Yes I said that!!! A team that only wins 38 games isn’t worthy of playoff competition.. However they shocked the world by nearly knocking the eventual champion Celtics out of the playoffs. But if you remember that final game the Hawks were completely blown out of the gym 99-65.. If you remember they went down by as many as 50 points… 

Tonight will show the world whether the Atlanta Hawks are really ready to contend for the NBA Championship when they face the Celtics tonight in

By the way did I mention the entire Hawks starting 5 is on this year’s All Star Ballot…

We are watching a great football season unfold at both the college & pro level. The most surprising thing is that it involves our teams right here in Georgia. For a change we aren’t on the outside looking in..

  The 7-3 Ga. Tech Yellow Jackets are a rejuvenated program under new head coach Paul Johnson.

 At 8-2 UGA continues to impress and made it back to the Top 10 in the BCS Poll.

And how about those Atlanta Falcons!!! Just this time last season the Birds looked as if the had regressed back to the 80’s. With the addition of rookie QB Matt Ryan & free agent RB Michael Turner, the Falcons look worthy enough to be mentioned as playoff contenders..

Do any of my true Falcons’ fans remember this???

Today America I come to you with a heavy heart…

This summer I had dreams of celebrating the Dawgs first national title since the early 80’s of Herschel, Buck, & Lindsey. However I now have to wait another season to see it.. First the Dawgs got dismantled by the Crimson Tide of Alabama but, being a true Dawgs fan I wasn’t worried because a one loss SEC team can still go to the SEC championship & play for the title as LSU did last year… But what happened on yesterday really lets me know that the Dawgs just aren’t ready for the championship or maybe the schedule makers did this on purpose.. First of all I give them credit, they just beat a very solid LSU program last weekend in Baton Rouge (after all they are the defending champs) but to turn around the very next week & have to play the Florida Gators is kind of suspect. There is no team in the country that could play the 2 of the best teams in the nation & win them both back to back.. 

My heart is heavy America!!!!

Turnover after turnover, punt after punt.. This isn’t the team Bulldog Nation expected.. One thing is for sure this year NO SEC CHAMPIONSHIP ,which means NO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!

Oh by the way did I mention that GT defeated FSU on the flat of Bobby Dodd yesterday???

Could we have a Tech upset of Georgia in the UGA/GT matchup in a few weeks???
